Presentation: Voice Therapy Techniques: A Brief Overview

Jess MacKimm, MS, CCC-SLP

Jae Bernado (they/she), MS, CF-SLP, is a voice therapist, singing teacher, and performer dedicated to helping individuals express themselves through their voices. Currently a Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow at the University of Washington Medical Center, Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Jae evaluates and treats patients with a wide range of voice, upper airway, and swallowing concerns. Additionally, as an Affiliate Teacher at the Voice Studio of Jordyn Day, they empower singers across genders and genres to use their voices more efficiently and sustainably, fostering freer, more expressive, and less effortful singing. Jae’s performance experience includes collaborations with renowned Pacific Northwest organizations such as Seattle Opera, Lowbrow Opera Collective, Seattle Pro Musica, and the Seattle Trans and Non-Binary Choral Ensemble. They are an active member of the Puget Sound Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Pan American Vocology Association, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the Northwest Chapter of the Voice Foundation.
